Body recovered from London Bay, Eday

Police divers have recovered a body from the water at London Bay, Eday, this afternoon.

Formal identification of the remains has not yet taken place and, according to police, may take some time. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The family of missing diver Roderick MacLean, who disappeared while diving in the area earlier this year, have been informed of the circumstances.

The Grampian Underwater Search Team travelled to Orkney today after police received a report yesterday that a diver had spotted what was possibly a body in the waters off Eday.
