Police issue computer scam warning
Northern Constabulary is advising members of the public to be aware of a computer scam that has been reported to them.
The scam involves an on-screen message which locks the users computer and is alleged to be from the Northern Constabulary E-Crime Unit. The user is requested to pay £100 unlock the machine.
Northern Constabulary would like to advise the public that no Police Force would contact the public by this means and would never request money directly. Police would advise members of the public of the following:

Do not respond to any message(s)

Do not give out any personal information (including bank details)

Ensure your computer anti-virus software is up to date
