Record high for dental registrations
Dental registrations in Orkney have risen to an all-time high, according to latest figures.
The number of people in the county who are now registered with an NHS dentist has risen to 11,928, figures published on the NHS Scotland information statistics division website state.
NHS Orkney’s chief executive Cathie Cowan described it as great news following the introduction of an improvement programme last year for Orkney Health and Care Dental Services.
Mrs Cowan said: “This built on previous work to increase capacity in the salaried dental service and resulted in an increase in registrations, with a small reduction in the waiting time for treatment.”
