Rugby legend wings his way to Stromness Academy

Stromness Academy pupils will have the opportunity meet Scottish Rugby legend Chris Paterson when he visits the school today, Friday.

As part of his visit to Orkney, Scottish Rugby ambassador, specialist coach and former professional player, Chris Paterson will be heading to Stromness Academy to meet the 50 pupils who are involved in the school’s successful rugby programme.

Rugby pupils will have the opportunity for photos and autographs with the rugby legend, before participating in a coaching session lead by Chris which will help them prepare for their upcoming games.

Mark Berry, Stromness Academy’s rugby coordinator, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils. We are delighted that Chris will be leading a training session, so that the boys and girls can learn from one of the best.”
