Search continues for missing diver

The search is continuing this morning for a 33–year–old clam diver missing off Eday since yesterday afternoon.

The Eday Sound area was searched by various vessels yesterday, including Kirkwall Lifeboat. An RAF search and rescue helicopter was also called in after the man was reported overdue from a dive. Coastguard rescue teams were also deployed on both Sanday and Eday.

Local fishing boats, including the Hildona, the vessel the diver had been working from, are still involved in the search this morning.

Rescue 102, the Shetland based Coastguard helicopter also searched the area this morning.
