Storm forecast prompts flood prevention measures

Orkney Islands Council has said it is planning to deploy temporary flood prevention equipment in St Margaret’s Hope, ahead of high tide tomorrow evening, Tuesday.

According to the council, a potential storm surge is forecast and the flood barriers will be installed as a precautionary measure in case there is wave overtopping.
