This year’s Stromness Shopping Week queen, Shannon MacLeod, gives the customary release of the pigeons at this year’s opening of the event, held outside the Stromness town house.

The official opening of the week long summer gala which is Stromness Shopping Week took place earlier today, Monday.

Neil Kermode, managing director of EMEC gave the opening address just after 11am this morning, before the 2014 Shopping Week Queen, Shannon MacLeod, was crowned by last year’s queen, Erin Davidson.
