Strong Orkney presence at energy event

Over 60 Highlands and Islands businesses are today taking centre stage at the renewable energy sector’s key exhibition and conference, with Orkney very well represented.

Highlands and Islands Enterprise’s HI-energy and Energy of Orkney pavilions will have the biggest regional presence at the two day All-Energy event in Aberdeen.

The 14th All-Energy Conference and Exhibition started this morning at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. Last year 606 companies from 17 countries exhibited at the event, which attracted almost 8,000 delegates.

Senior development manager for Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), Norma Hogan said: “This is going to be a packed day for the companies exhibiting on the HI-energy and Energy of Orkney pavilions. Companies from the length and breadth of the Highlands and Islands are here.

“All-Energy is an integral part of the business calendar for the renewable energy sector, and it represents an ideal opportunity for these companies to meet like-minded people from the renewable energy sector across the globe. Innovation and expertise are the hallmarks of these businesses and if previous years are anything to go by, our pavilions will be busy venues at All-Energy.”

There is also a wide ranging conference programme, including a number of sessions in the Wave and Tidal theatre next to the HI-energy and Energy of Orkney pavilions.
