Toxic doll recall advice
It is believed that a number of the toxic “fruit head” or “singing fruit head” dolls, now under an EU wide recall, were sold in the run up to the festive season in shops in Orkney.
The dolls are believed to contain phthalates, which are banned in this country, and are falsely marked with the EU trading standards mark of approval.
Orkney Islands Council’s trading standards department has issued the following advice: “Anyone who has bought this toy, or received it as a gift, is advised to return it to the retailer or contact the importer if their details are on any labelling information.
