Union confirms NorthLink strike dates

The shipping union RMT has confirmed strike dates on the Serco NorthLink ferry services.

RMT members have been instructed to withdraw their labour on the following services at the following times and dates:

Orkney – Scrabster

  • 00:01 hours to 24:00 hours on Friday, December 14.
  • 00:01 hours to 24:00 hours on Friday, December 21.
  • 00:01 hours to 24:00 hours on Friday, December 28.

Aberdeen – Orkney – Shetland

  • 08:00 hours on Sunday, December 16, to 08:00 hours on Monday, December 17.
  • 08:00 hours on Sunday, December 23, to 08:00 hours on Monday, December 24.
  • 08:00 hours on Sunday, December 30, to 08:00 hours on Monday, December 31.

According to the union, Serco NorthLink has “provoked the strikes” by “abandoning any pretence at negotiation” over the issues at the heart of the dispute.
