Vandals target wartime building in Lyness

Kirkwall police are investigating after the number two pumphouse in Lyness was vandalised last week.

Orkney Islands Council, which looks after the wartime building, is warning people that entering old buildings is dangerous.

A council spokesman added: “We would also ask that local people keep an eye out for any suspicious activity in the area and report any concerns to the council’s museums service or the police.”
