The CalMac ferry Isle of Lewis is pictured in Stromness earlier today.

The ship was carrying out berthing trials in the harbour as she is due to cover for the Hamnavoe when the ferry goes to Rosyth for dry-dock for the first two weeks of March.

Leaving on Monday, February 29, the Hamnavoe is due back in service on the Pentland Firth route on Wednesday, March 16.

“It is anticipated that during this period relief cover will be provided by MV Isle of Lewis on a time charter from CalMac Ferries,” said a Serco NorthLink spokesman.
