Accident closes Howe Road

Yesterday evening, Thursday, a three vehicle accident closed the Howe Road outside Stromness for over three hours.

According to police, two cars and a quad bike were involved in the accident, which happened at about 7pm.

One person is receiving treatment at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary as a result, although their injuries are not life-threatening.

A police spokesman said the road had been closed as a precaution.
