BBC Radio 4 in Orkney

Orkney is the setting for two BBC Radio 4 programmes broadcast over the next two weeks.

Tom Heap, known for BBC TV’s Countryfile, will present Costing the Earth — Wave Goodbye? on Tuesday, October 2, at 3.30pm and On Your Farm which on Sunday, October 7, at 6.35am.

Wave Goodbye? will focus on marine energy while the On Your Farm will investigate the history of the local Farmer’s Milk Cooperative and how, in Orkney, there is a different situation than dairy farmers on the Scottish mainland due to the Orkney Cheese company.

The programmes will also be available on BBC i—player after the broadcast date.
