Campaigners meet with airline over service issues

flightlogoCampaigners from the ‘Islanders Against Loganair and Flybe’s Excessive Prices’ Facebook campaign group spent almost five hours in a meeting with senior management from Loganair yesterday, Thursday, discussing many of the issues surrounding the under fire airline, and its services to the Northern Isles.

After the meeting, the man at the head of the service, Loganair chief executive Stewart Adams admitted: “It’s simply not been good enough in recent months.”

According to the campaign group, a number of issues raised by group members were discussed and addressed by Loganair. Also taking part in the meeting was Northern Isles MP Alistair Carmichael.

Particular focus was given to prices, reliability and ‘compassionate services’ for islanders attending hospitals and bereavements.

Scott Preston, founder of the campaign said he was “delighted that not only were Loganair willing to provide answers to many of the group’s questions but were also able to provide us with a much fuller understanding of the economics of running an airline.”
