Coastguard launch search for diver

HM Coastguard is coordinating the search for a diver in Pentland Firth.

The alarm was raised this Tuesday evening at about 6pm.

A spokesman from the Coastguard crew has confirmed that a helicopter from Sumburgh has been sent to assist, along with RNLI boats from Longhope and Wick. They are joined in this response by Coastguard Rescue Teams from Kirkwall and St Margaret’s Hope.

Three nearby vessels are also supporting.
