Council focus on Weyland

Orkney Islands Council say that the draft Weyland Development Brief will be published for a six week period of consultation, from May 29 to July 10.

Following the consultation, the document will be revised and reported to councillors for approval. Once approved, the document will be a material consideration for all planning applications in this area.

Statutory consultees include neighbouring properties and Kirkwall Community Council.

The draft Development Brief provides guidance on the design and function of the site to ensure that developments are of a high quality and are sensitive to the local context.

The document will be available, from May 29, on the council website.

Reference copies will also be made available at the OIC customer services, Kirkwall; OIC cash office, Stromness; Kirkwall Library; Stromness Library and mobile library vans.
