Dare-devil BASE jumps off St John’s Head
West-Yorkshire dare-devil Simon Brentford travelled to Hoy last month to become the first person to BASE jump off St John’s Head.
With a cliff height of around 1125ft above sea level, the challenge of climbing ‘Big John’ appeals to many in the world of extreme sports, but to leap from its dizzying height was no mean feat — even for an experienced BASE jumper such as Simon.
Simon’s jump, on March 24, can be viewed here, with a full-page feature on the challenge set to appear in next week’s The Orcadian.
