Drink-driver disqualified and fined

An Airdrie man has been fined £450 and disqualified from driving for 18 months after driving while over twice the legal alcohol limit.

Appearing from custody at Kirkwall Sheriff Court on Monday afternoon, Mariusz Gorka, 38, admitted driving a van on the Kirkwall to St Margaret’s Hope road, and on various roads in Kirkwall, with 77mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
