Emergency services called to The Gloup
Kirkwall Lifeboat station have confirmed that the emergency services are currently attending at a situation at The Gloup, in Deerness, this afternoon.
It is believed that Kirkwall Lifeboat is in attendance and the HM Coastguard helicopter has also been called out, following reports of someone falling over the cliff edge at the collapsed sea cave.
Kirkwall Lifeboat was called out at around 1.40pm this afternoon and it is currently being investigated whether a boat extraction could be possible.
The status of the person involved in the incident is not known at this point.
