Extra-time defeat for footballers

Shetland’s inter-county football team retained the Milne Cup with an extra-time victory over Orkney at Picky this afternoon.

After trailing 1-0, Orkney sent the match into extra-time thanks to an 89th minute equaliser from substitute Chris Hellewell.

James Linklater put Orkney 2-1 in front in the first half of extra-time, but Shetland equalised shortly after, before winning the match with a last-minute volley.
