Feedback wanted on Scapa Flow scheme

With the Scapa Flow Landscape Partnership Scheme (SFLPS) coming to an end at the end of the year, the organisations behind the project are keen to hear from the public on what they think its impact has been.

With this in mind, a new Facebook page has been set up inviting comments.

“We’d like to get responses from as many people as possible,” said SFLPS manager Julian Branscombe. “We hope people will pass on their experiences of the scheme – and Facebook seems like a really good way to help people do that.

“Lots of the projects will continue to have a physical presence in Orkney, like Ness Battery, the Building the Barriers exhibition at the Orkney Fossil and Heritage Centre and the wartime trails on Hoy and Flotta. Online, too, there’s lots more information about the Flow at www.scapaflow.co and you can take a virtual tour of the wrecks of the German High Seas Fleet at www.scapaflowwrecks.com.

“Some of the projects will live on in the memories of those who took part – and it is these memories, as well as thoughts about what the Scapa Flow Landscape Partnership has done for Orkney, which they are hoping to capture through the Facebook page.”
