Fire service called to “false alarm”
Fire engines from Kirkwall were called to a false alarm at Gorseness Road, Rendall, this afternoon.
A spokesman from the fire and rescue service said two fire engines attended the scene after following a call at 12.18pm. Crews later confirmed that it was a false alarm.
Similarly, the fire and rescue service were also called to a false alarm last Thursday morning, following a smoke detector activating at a property in Firth.
Two fire engines attended the scene and the crews left at around 9.35am after ensuring the area was safe.
