First port of call for latest housing information
The housing section on the Orkney Islands Council website has undergone a complete makeover.
It now takes the form of a housing options guide – a first port of call for information and advice.
“The aim is to offer step-by-step guidance to help people make informed choices about their particular housing needs,” said Frances Troup, the council’s head of housing and homelessness.
“This section of the website has been given a comprehensive overhaul to ensure it’s readable, accessible and easy to follow. We hope the end result is a user-friendly guide, whatever your housing needs.”
Advice is available to people who are:
- Owning or renting their homes.
- Homeless or are about to become homeless
- Needing help with housing costs
- Looking to buy or rent a property
- Landlords or interested in becoming a landlord
This section of the website also contains information aimed at young people staying at the Papdale Halls of Residence in Kirkwall. To visit the guide, follow the “housing” link in the One Step Away panel on the homepage of www.orkney.gov.uk.
