Flotta facility investments

Oil and gas services company Fjord Processing — formerly known as Opus Maxim — has announced new jobs and a significant investment at their main Scottish centre at Flotta.

Two new posts have been created at the centre, where £1m has also been invested to improve research and testing facilities.

According to the company, in addition to other process technologies and services, the base now offers expertise in assessing the environmental risk of waste water discharges through modelling marine and freshwater ecotoxicology studies and consultancy for chemical registration for the oil industry.

Opus, with bases in Surrey and Orkney, was acquired in 2013, by Aker Solutions and formerly changed its name from Opus Maxim to Fjords Processing Ltd on September 1, 2015.
