Forecast affects recycling collection

Orkney Islands Council is advising people in recycling collection area E that tomorrow’s (Friday) recycling collection may be subject to disruption due to adverse weather.

All refuse collections will take place as normal. Areas affected by the possible recycling disruption are Kirkwall North East.

If residents find that their bins are not emptied and they have too much recycling to store within their wheelie bins by the time their next collection comes around, they can put the excess out on January 23, for example in a cardboard box or clear plastic bags – as long as it can be easily identified by our staff as recyclables.
