French ambassador/consul general – a clarification

The story in today’s paper, regarding Alistair Carmichael’s role in the leak of a Scottish Office memo to the Daily Telegraph, states that the memo claimed that Nicola Sturgeon had made comments to the French Consul General.

This is incorrect. The memo, which was compiled after a conversation between a civil servant and the French Consul General, claimed that Ms Sturgeon had made the comments to the French Ambassador.
