Further road closures in Stromness this week

Roads in central Stromness will be closed for a short period this week so Orkney Islands Council can finish flagstone repairs.

Work due to be completed last week was delayed while work crews were diverted to gritting duties in the county.

Works is now scheduled to take place from Church Road to Graham Place and on Alfred Street from Wednesday, January 30, to the following Friday.

The council has said the sections of road will be closed, as required, between 9am to midday and then again from 1pm to 3.30pm while repairs are carried out. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the works.

Repaired areas will be covered by temporary plates to allow the repairs to bed in.
