Graemsay ro-ro service discussed by OIC

The potential of developing what has been described as a ‘partial ro-ro’ service to Graemsay was up for discussion in the council chamber this week.

However, the item was discussed in private by members of the OIC policy and resources committee, which met on Tuesday, after which a short statement was released by the OIC.

Giving few details at this stage, it said that the committee considered proposals to provide Graemsay with new facilities that would enable the island to receive a partial ro-ro service.

The statement added: “Members asked for further information to help ensure the best option is selected for the project – and that this is reported to an upcoming meeting of the development and infrastructure committee.”
