Health and social care integration survey reminder

People in Orkney have less than a week to add their comments to a consultation on proposals for the future delivery of integrated health and social care services.

Orkney Islands Council and NHS Orkney have developed detailed proposals for a new joint board which will plan and deliver these services in future. These are contained in a draft integration scheme, which sets out which health and social care services the joint board will have responsibility for.

The document can be accessed online by following links from the NHS Orkney website home page (www.ohb.scot.nhs.uk) or the OIC website home page (www.orkney.gov.uk).

Both websites provide an opportunity for people to take part in an online survey on the proposals.

Paper copies of the survey and the draft Integration Scheme are also available from OIC customer services and the libraries in Kirkwall and Stromness, on local ferries, and at GP surgeries.

OIC convener, Councillor Steven Heddle and John Ross Scott, chairman of NHS Orkney, said: “There has been a good response so far. With the consultation period due to end on Monday March 2, we are encouraging people to add their views, comments and suggestions if they haven’t already taken part in the consultation.”
