The two-year-old Highland filly Midcalder Maggie May, shown by Sarah Campbell of Tayberry, was crowned champion of the showyard at this year’s ‘Hope Show this afternoon.

Earlier in the day, the pony, sired by the Highland Show champion Glenbanchor Gillebrighde, and out of Sarah’s own Jewel o’ the Glens, won the overall horse title.

The Taylors at the Hall of Herston, St Margaret’s Hope, took the top title in the cattle ring — and reserve in the showyard — with the homebred, February 2015-born Charolais heifer Herston Lilly.

This is the second year in a row that Herston Lilly has taken the show’s top cattle prize.

In the sheep section of the show it was a home-bred January born Suffolk ewe lamb shown by J.W.S Wishart & Son of Knockhall which was named as champion.
