‘Hope Show gets under way

This year’s South Ronaldsay and Burray Agricultural and Industrial Shows kick off this morning, in St Margaret’s Hope.

The agricultural show once again takes place in the field beside the Braeburn care facility, in the south of the village. For many years the show had been held in a field nearby the local school but last year, due to wet weather and other factors, the decision was made to move to the new showpark to the new location.

The show will see the best of the islands’ cattle, sheep, horses, goats, poultry, pets and dogs on display, with the Champion of the Yard title to be presented at around 3pm.

The Industrial Show continues to take place in the Hope Community School.
