House fire in Kirkwall confined to porch

Fire appliances from Kirkwall and Stromness were called to attend a property fire in the Strynd, Kirkwall, earlier this afternoon.

A fire service spokesman said that damage was confined to the porch of the house, and that investigations were continuing into the cause of the blaze, which occurred around 12.30pm.
