Hoy Head returns while the Graemsay goes on refit
It’s a case of one in, one out, for the south isles ferries.
The Hoy Head has returned from refit and has resumed sailing the Houton, Flotta, Lyness route, which had been covered by the Thorsvoe.
While the Graemsay has gone for refit and the Stromness, Graemsay, Moaness route is being covered by The Nordic Sea.
A spokeswoman for the council said: “It is hoped that the Graemsay will be back in service the last week in April.”
However nothing is straight forward, due to prevailing weather and predicted tidal heights, on Wednesday April 6, the vessel has had to cancel all scheduled arrivals and departures from Moaness, while all sailings to Graemsay are under review.
