Orkney’s Ideal Homes Exhibition is set to return this weekend.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Orkney, the exhibition takes place from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, June 8, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, June 9, at The Pickaquoy Centre.

It is a chance for many local businesses to showcase their services and products to the public while, at the same time, raising much needed funds for local and international charities.

This year the funds raised will go to five different charities: Dementia Friendly Orkney, The 2025 Island Games, The Samaritans, Polio Eradication, and an initiative inspired by Global Angels which helps families in Africa with basic household items.

Entrance to the event is free, so the club intends to raise funds through donations from the people who attend, as well as selling tickets for a huge raffle.

President of the Rotary Club of Orkney, Robbie Fraser, said: “I think it’s a tremendous exhibition of what local businesses in Orkney have to offer.

“We’re so grateful for all the businesses for buying into this and putting so much work into it, spending a lot of money to come here

“I hope local people will support them in their droves — come here and see what they’ve got to offer and hopefully do business with them

“The rotary committee that’s organised this has put in so much work for many, many months and we owe a great deal of gratitude to these people who have organised this event for the Rotary Club of Orkney.”
