Jailed for stealing money and drugs

A man has been sentenced to three years and four months in prison after stealing money and drugs at knife point.

Steven George MacCormick Roy, 29, previously admitted, while acting along with another, assaulting a man at an address in Kirkwall, threatening him with violence, presenting knives to him, prodding him on the body with a knife, holding said knives against his face and throat to his injury, and robbing £745 and a quantity of cannabis resin.

Sentencing Roy, Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood said: “For such an offence I can conceive of no other sentence than a significant custodial term.”
