Junior Inter-County challenge for Orkney

Orkney and Shetland go head to head this weekend in the annual Junior Inter-county fixture.

The Orkney contingent travelled north on Saturday night, aiming to level the score and win the Stuart Cup for the first time since 2007.

This year’s contest begins with athletics, on Sunday, and will be followed by football and netball. The tournament will then be rounded off, on Monday, with the swimming and hockey competitions, respectively.

Orkney’s 2011 overall team captains are Thorfinn Stout and Carolynn Leslie.
