Kirkwall bonfire and fireworks display
Kirkwall’s annual bonfire and fireworks display will this year take place on Saturday November 4, at the usual venue, the Peedie Sea.
The event will begin with the lighting of the bonfire, by the Rotary Club president David Dawson and a representative from the Kirkwall and St Ola Community Council, at 6.45pm.
The Kirkwall City Pipe Band will then play from 7pm, with the fireworks display to start at 7.15pm.
The area’s Community Council would like to remind parents that they are responsible for their children at the event and are also asking spectators not to use the middle path at the Peedie Sea on the night.
Anyone coming along to the event is also asked to leave dogs at home as the noise from the fireworks can disturb animals.
The rotary club is also advising that some of the paths at and near the Peedie Sea will be closed earlier on the day to allow for the setting up for the display.
