Kirkwall woman confirmed as Olympic Torchbearer

Kirkwall woman Tina Wood has been confirmed as the first Bank of Scotland Olympic Torchbearer.

Tina was selected from hundreds of entries, thanks to her extensive work in the local community, whether through her involvement with the Kirkwall City Pipe Band or day-to-day work for adults with learning difficulties.

At a ceremony in London yesterday, Tina was joined by her sister, Dawn, who nominated her through the public nomination campaign.
