Lock your doors, say police, following sneak-in theft.

Police are, once again, reminding householders of the importance of securing properties, following after a sneak-in theft in Kirkwall in the early hours of this morning.

According to a police spokesman, a house in Scapa Crescent was entered around 5.30am this morning. The householder was disturbed and found people in the property.

“We are following a positive line of inquiry, but anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Kirkwall police station on the non-emergency number 101.”

He added: “The incident emphasises the importance of keeping properties secure, particularly at this time of year.”
