Lottery scam warning from Trading Standards
Orkney Islands Council Trading Standards Service is urging folk in Orkney not to respond to lottery letters claiming huge winnings.
There are two letters circulating at the moment which have generated a number of calls to local Trading Standards and the police.
The letters claim to be from the Euromillions Fifa World Cup Super Lottery, Switzerland which gives a false Aberdeen address, and the International Fifa World Cup Online Lottery, Australia giving a false London contact.
Both display the Fifa World Cup, Brazil logos and one has a stamp saying ‘Scottish Online Lotto, Aberdeen’.
These are both scams and people should not respond to them.
If anyone has any queries, they can contact Trading Standards on 873535 or at trading.standards@orkney.gov.uk
