Man charged in connection with alleged sexual assault
Police have confirmed that a 53-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault reported to have happened in Kirkwall overnight between Sunday and Monday.The man is expected to appear at Kirkwall Sheriff Court later today, Wednesday.
Detective inspector Donald Macdonald said: “We would like to thank the members of the public who assisted our enquiries and the local community in Kirkwall for their understanding while officers carried out enquiries.”
