Marine pilot retires after long service
OIC Marine Services pilot Captain Iain Waters has retired after almost 24 years service with the Harbour Authority.
Captain Waters served as one of five pilots, guiding commercial shipping of all shapes and sizes around the harbour limits.
Over the years he has served on oil tankers bound for the Flotta jetty and ship-to-ship operations in Scapa Flow, as well as on board freight and passengers vessels, cruise liners, and wave and tidal technology operations.
A Marine Services spokesman said that his expertise, experience and professionalism will be sorely missed.
