Merry dancers brighten up Orkney news feeds
Facebook feeds were aglow last week as Orkney experienced a glorious display of colour in the sky.
While the welcome arrival of the aurora borealis to brighten up cold Orkney winters is nothing new, the advent of digital photography and social media certainly appears to have stoked our enthusiasm for chasing this amazing natural phenomenon.
This week, we asked the county’s northern lights hunters to share their images with us. We had an astronomical response, with over 50 folk sending their photographs in. While we sadly weren’t able to share all of your gorgeous snaps, we’ve selected just some of our favourites to share with readers.
