National award recognises Living Orkney as a ‘quality product’

The Chairman’s Prize at the Scottish Magazine Awards this week was picked up by John Ross Scott, Living Orkney magazine and the Orkney Media Group.

This is the first national award for the company.

Editor, Mr Scott, said: “It was an outstanding achievement award — I was too gobsmacked to actually take it all in, but my 37 years in journalism was mentioned and teamwork, innovation and a quality product referring to Living Orkney.

“It was amazing to be there. It was in my name and that of Living Orkney and the Orkney Media Group — I accepted it on behalf of myself, Kerry Martin and Karin Brown.”

More than 300 guests joined in the celebrations at the gala dinner and award ceremony hosted by comedian Craig Hill at Prestonfield House Hotel, Edinburgh, on St Andrew’s Night, November 30.
