New vaccination centres to open as over 75s rollout launches
Orkney’s vaccination programme is continuing to expand as jabs become available to folk aged 75 and over and people who fall into the shielded category.
This expansion brings with it the establishment of three new vaccination centres across the Mainland.
Stromness Warehouse Building, Dounby Milestone Church and South Ronaldsay and Burray Church are all due to serve as venues for administering the vaccine in Orkney, in addition to the Kirkwall Vaccination Centre.
From 2pm today, Wednesday, NHS Orkney is opening up appointments for this latest section of of population to receive the vaccine.
However, if you are a shielder and registered with Stromness Surgery, the practice will contact you separately to arrange your appointment.
According to NHSO, folk in the outer isles will be contacted directly by their GP Practice.
To book an appointment please call the Kirkwall Vaccination Centre on: 0300 303 5313 (Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4.30pm).
To help deal with the volume of calls, NHS Orkney has said it would be helpful if patients could try and phone on the below dates. If you are not able to call on your scheduled day, please call on one of the other dates.
