No increase to school meal prices

Orkney Islands Council is to maintain the current price of school meals for primary and secondary school pupils for the next year.

The price of school meals has increased each year over the past three years, with the price of a two-course school meal currently standing at £2.00 for primary pupils and £2.10 for secondary pupils.

Councillors made the decision not to increase the prices at this morning’s meeting of the Education, Leisure and housing Committee, with several elected members expressing their agreement with the decision.
