‘At one with Orkney’ campaign aims to stir the visitors’ souls

A new marketing campaign is inviting visitors to become “One with Orkney” this spring.

Taking inspiration from the islands’ strong association with the elements and drawing on its mystical and spiritual character, the promotion was created by VisitScotland, with support from Orkney Islands Council, the Orkney Tourism Group and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

It includes a video and an interactive eBook, “bringing to life the sights, sounds and experiences that stir the emotions of visitors and make a visit to Orkney so unique.”

Barbara Foulkes, VisitScotland island manager, said: “This new eBook and film builds on the success of VisitScotland’s Spirit of Scotland global campaign, helping raise the profile and reputation of Orkney as a special place to visit, live and work in.

“This is a fantastic asset for VisitScotland to promote Orkney to visitors from near and far, particularly during the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology.

“With its rich history, breath-taking natural landscapes and welcoming people, Orkney is an incredibly beautiful and magical place. We hope this new eBook and film, which is filled with stunning images of the islands, will inspire people to make the trip and become one with Orkney this year.”
