Operation Joint Warrior starts next weekend

Operation Joint Warrior, a large military exercise involving the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force, is due to start next weekend.

The exercise, which runs from Saturday, April 11, until Friday, April 24, will feature 55 warships and submarines, 70 aircraft and around 13,000 personnel from 18 participating countries.

There will be significant naval and aerial activity off the coast of Scotland and GPS jamming in “a confined area of north-west Scotland”.

According to the Royal Navy, the relevant authorities, including aviation and maritime communities, have been consulted and procedures are in place for any unforeseen activity that might arise.
