Orcadians head for Germany as Euro 2024 fever sweeps the nation

All roads lead to Munich this week, as Orkney’s Tartan Army exodus goes into overdrive for what many people are viewing as a “trip of a lifetime”.

It’s planes, trains and automobiles, as Scotland fans from across Orkney travel in numbers — part of an estimated 250,000 Scots to descend on Germany for Euro 2024.

It is a trip that has been in the making for over two decades, many having the privilege of watching Scotland play at a major tournament for the first time.
